Today’s food ecosystem faces serious challenges. More than 25 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions comes from food systems and one-third of food produced is wasted. For the world to achieve sustainability, immediate action on the right management of the food systems is urgently needed.
The United Nations has identified responsible consumption as one of the Sustainability Development Goals (SDG).
As the leading longevity packaging manufacturer, Eka Global believes we can contribute to this global mission. Our longevity packaging can help by protecting food for longer, preventing food waste and improving food safety.
Eka Global aims to make a positive difference for our customers, suppliers, colleagues and society as a whole.

We believe in reducing food waste by extending shelf life and end-of-life management of packaging. Our packaging plays a fundamental role in protecting food. It guarantees food safety and hygiene, helps prevent food waste and gives access to food by supporting easy and efficient delivery. Longevity packaging has a critical role in building a sustainable and resilient food systems globally to Live a Healthier Lifestyle.
To us, sustainability means considering our impact throughout the entire value chain. We have always been serious about minimizing the impacts of our operations and products on the environment while maximizing the positive impacts on our stakeholders, consumers, and society.
We work pro-actively on becoming a leader in all three sustainability pillars – products, operations, and society.
As a packaging producer with more than 20 years of experience in the market, Eka Global is well aware of how much we can contribute to environmental sustainability. While packaging brings greater convenience to daily consumption, it also has a great deal of potential for impacting the environment.
At Eka Global, we have looked closely into the entire value chain and set clear strategic goals to improve the use of renewable sources, lessen superfluous resource consumption, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve our efforts in greenness.
To achieve these goals, Eka Global aims to increase the renewable sources while improving resource efficiency by reducing energy used per thousand product units (kWh/1000 product units) and water and other resources per thousand products or more. We are also looking at cutting the percentage of waste generated per thousand product units.
Recycling is also a major area of focus. Our packaging is already 100% recyclable but we want to do even better by ensuring that other materials we use are also recyclable.

Sustainability does not only mean less impact on the environment. A pleasant, peaceful society with endless development is also an end goal. Eka Global, therefore, has set goals to ensure that all our stakeholders are well taken care of in order to promote inclusive development and ensure that no one is left behind.
Five strategies have been identified in this respect. First, all society members shall be included in developing sustainable goals, which will increase our commitment level to all. Second, stakeholders’ relationship shall be enhanced to ensure a pleasant ecosystem. Third, Eka Global will participate in related social initiatives to achieve harmony in society. Fourth, our employees must be satisfied, which will lead to continuous development at the individual level. And, finally, our social marketing policies should be tailored to promote sustainable development.
Questionnaires will be developed for different stakeholders. Results from the survey will be used to measure how well we do in each area and identify the areas that need improvement. Through regular surveys, Eka Global believes that sustainability will be built gradually and firmly.
For any business, sustainable development is mainly identified by numbers.
Returns on investment, revenues especially those associated with sustainability aspects, enhanced technology and guaranteed process quality are all identified as our strategic goals.
